Hello
Thank you for taking the time to consider me as your future therapist. It takes a huge amount of courage to take this first step towards healing. I recognize that this process may look different for each person, and I am here to listen and work with you through any thoughts or emotions you may be experiencing. Your story and voice are unique; if given the opportunity, I look forward to hearing them.
My Story
I am a trauma-informed Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Registered Social Service Worker (RSSW). I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York University, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, and two diplomas in Early Childhood Education and Addiction and Mental Health from Centennial College.
For the past 4 years, I have worked at The Gatehouse, which is an organization that provides peer support programs, including individual and group support, for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This opportunity has provided me with insurmountable first-hand knowledge on how to support survivors both emotionally and psychologically from an empathetic and trauma-informed perspective.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I tend to incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities in my practice. I strive to create a safe and welcoming space with my clients, but ultimately, only they can determine if the space is "safe" for them. With that said, my goal is to create a warm and inviting space for my clients to feel seen and their voices to be heard. I aim to help my clients process their thoughts and feelings and develop new coping strategies to help them build resiliency and strengthen their capacity. I also believe that past and childhood experiences have the potential to impact current-day issues, so provided that my clients are open to exploring these experiences, I help them connect their past and present issues with the hope of building a stronger foundation for their well-being.
